Integrated Lighting Alliance

The integrated lighting alliance is a coalition of industry thought leaders committed to interoperable lighting systems that enable superior energy and operational efficiencies in our commercial buildings.

Our Mission

As an independent, not for profit association of industry thought leaders and manufacturers, ILA's mission is to educate the marketplace on the many energy and non-energy benefits that interoperable, solid state lighting systems can deliver to end users and society alike. Integrated lighting systems that interoperate with other building control systems, enable occupancy-based visual and thermal comfort that's optimized for occupant needs, whether it’s a school, a hospital or a commercial office building. Moreover, interoperable lighting systems that utilize open, standards-based communication protocols enable plug and play control of lighting, HVAC and plug loads, which together, optimize whole building performance – and help our buildings contribute to realizing our larger climate goals.

Whole Building Efficiency

Integrated lighting and HVAC control systems optimize whole building energy usage and enable the load flexibility and grid interactive capabilities needed for grid resiliency.

Healthier Buildings

Integrated lighting/HVAC control enables occupant centered air quality strategies that insure superior building ventilation and indoor air quality.

Operational Efficiency

Interoperable, wireless lighting systems can facilitate the deployment of advanced sensors that deliver asset tracking, space utilization, wayfinding and other key building benefits that improve operational efficiencies.

Future-ready Buildings

Lighting systems that use open, interoperable standards-based communication protocols enable plug and play control that creates future-ready buildings.
